Lecturer Gözdem İLKAY

Gözdem İLKAY was born in 1987 in Yeşilyurt, Northern Cyprus. She started her first musical education with Yılmaz TANER at the age of seven. She was accepted to Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in the 1998-1999 academic year and studied with Prof. She became a student of Güherdal ÇAKIRSOY. In 2003, “3. She attended the "Traditional Antalya Piano Days". In 2004, she won the first prize in the "2004 International Beşparmak Piano Competition" (Category B) organized by Eastern Mediterranean University. Master classes actively attended; Muhittin DÜRRÜOĞLU, Mehmet OKONŞAR, Gülsin ONAY, Oxana YABLONSKAYA, İdil BİRET, Özgür AYDIN, Emre ELİVAR, Hacıbaba ADİLOĞLU and Edith FISCHER. "11th Congress" held in Turkey in April 2008. She won the second prize in the 18-22 age group at the International Young Musicians Classical Music Competition. She graduated from the conservatory with a very good degree in June 2008. Festivals where he gave recitals; “3rd North Cyprus International Music Festival”, “3rd North Cyprus Lefke International Art Festival”, “Bellapais Spring and Music Festival”, “18th North Cyprus International Bellapais Music Festival” and “Nicosia Piano Festival”. Between the 2012-2018 academic years, she has been teaching musical hearing, reading, writing and piano lessons at the Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, and since the 2016-2017 academic year, she has been teaching musical hearing, reading, writing and piano lessons at the Near East University Faculty of Education, Department of Music Teaching. She participated in the auditions and was selected and gave a piano recital within the scope of the "33rd World Conference of International Society for Music Education" in Baku, Azerbaijan in July 2018, with the contributions of the TRNC Presidency and Culture Department.

Gözdem İlkay has been a member of the bi-communal orchestra “Cyprus Chamber Orchestra” since 2016. She has been doing his doctorate in the Department of Music Education at the Near East University Institute of Educational Sciences since the spring semester of 2020. She still continues his piano studies individually and gives concerts.
