He was born in 1972 in Nicosia. After completing his primary education there, he completed his secondary education at Şehit Hüseyin Ruso Secondary School and Nicosia Turkish High School. He completed his BA at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences , Department of Mathematics in Ankara in 1994, his MA in Applied Mathematics and Computer at Eastern Mediterranean University, Institute of Science in 1996, and his PhD in the same field at Eastern Mediterranean University, Institute of Science in 2003. He worked full-time between 1994-2003 and continued his student counseling and academic studies. Between 2010-14, within the framework of a grant program supported by the European Union, he worked as a project consultant at Yeni Yüzyıl Kindergarten, Karaoğlanoğlu Primary School, Gönyeli Primary School, Çamlıbel Primary School, Şehit Hüseyin Ruso Secondary School, Yeşilyurt Primary School and Kurtuluş High School in Northern Cyprus and taught teachers about Smart Boards in these schools. It currently provides statistical software (SPSS) as well as measurement and evaluation courses to teachers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.

He participated in many national and international (TRNC, Turkey) scientific meetings. He has more than 50 publications and most of them have been cited in international journals. He has advised more than 20 master's or doctoral theses. He started working as a research assistant at Eastern Mediterranean University in 1994 and became an assistant professor at Near East University in 2003 and associate professor in 2015. He served as vice head of the Department of Computer and Educational Technologies Education at the Faculty of Education at Near East University between 2003-2010. Since 2008, he has been the head of the Department of Primary and Secondary Mathematics Education, the head of the Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education, and also the vice dean of the Atatürk Faculty of Education at Near East University and a member of the executive board of the Cyprus Education Sciences Association. He is married with two children and is a is in the know.
