İlias Abdullin was born in 1954 in Baku. He began studying music at Conservatory Private Music School (violin department) at 7. He graduated from Music Academy (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree) in 1978. He worked as a concertmaster of the Musical Theater orchestra and a conductor of the Chamber Orchestra for a long time. Since 1988 he worked at the Department of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation), while directing the original music program on TV and radio.  He has been living in Northern Cyprus since 2002. İlias Abdullin has taken part in many music projects including commemorations of the 250th anniversary of Mozart under the aegis of the Near East University, charitable concerts ‘Piano to Every School’ etc. In 2008 he began performing with Expromte Trio.

- In 2015 they recorded disc ‘Kıbrısta buluştuk’ (‘We Met in Cyprus’) with ethnic music of the Turkish peoples.

Since 2013 İlias Abdullin has been working at the Near East University as a Lecturer at Department of Fine Arts Education giving violin and other music lessons, as well as a coordinator of cultural activities of the faculty.

- In 2016 he recorded his solo album ‘Wandering’ with classical works of composers from different countries and epochs.

-In 2017 he recorded another solo album ‘Feelings’ with popular violin compositions.

İlias Abdullin is currently obtaining a PHD degree at Faculty of Educational Science of Near East University.
