
Ahmet Karahan was born in 1963 in Limassol. He graduated from Kurtuluş High School in 1981. He graduated from Ege University, Department of Mathematics with a 3rd degree in 1981-1985. He started at Erenköy High School in 1987 and continued at 20 Temmuz Science High School between 1988-2018. He served as the head of MDYYK in the Ministry of National Education between 2018-2019. He completed his master's degree in Mathematics Education at Girne American University in 2000. He completed his doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision at Lefke European University in 2020.
In my professional life, for the first time in the field of mathematics, a presentation was made with my students in the European Union about Catalan numbers. The first mathematics newspaper was published on the island (Parabol Newspaper). He founded the first mathematics club in secondary education. Students were ranked in mathematics competitions implemented by Eastern Mediterranean University. He organized mathematics, science and science project competitions between secondary schools in the Ministry of National Education and implemented them in schools. He celebrated the first Pi Day in TRNC. He represented the TRNC state in the International World Mathematics Olympiad, Balkan Junior Mathematics Olympiad, Balkan Senior Mathematics Olympiad and Islamic Mathematics Olympiad. He gave lectures in GAU, Final University and BAU. He made a presentation on 'Hidden geometry in Lefkara works' in the 35th Folklore Symposium organized by Hasder. He was a referee in Primary Education.org
Dr. Ahmet Karahan, who has articles in national and international indexed journals, and presentations in congresses, symposiums, has a Master's Thesis on 'Program Development in Mathematics Olympiads' and a PhD thesis on 'Evaluation in Mathematics'. He continues his studies on Ethnomathematics, Supervision in Education, Education Policy, and Mathematics Education. He has a child.
