Çiğdem Hürsen was born in 1983. She completed her primary, middle school and high school education in Lefke. In 2005, she graduated from the Girne American University Combined Non-Thesis Master's Program in Turkish Language and Literature Department. In 2007 she began working full time at the Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education as a lecturer and completed the Near East University Education Programs and Teaching Department Master’s Program. She completed the Near East University Education Programs and Teaching Department Doctorate program in 2011. She was appointed as an Asst. Prof. Dr. by Near East University in January 2012, Assoc. Prof. Dr. in 2016 and Prof. Dr. in 2023.

Çiğdem Hürsen is a full time lecturer at the Near East University Atatürk Education Faculty and has also been working as the Director of the Near East University Lifelong Learning Centre since 2019. Çiğdem Hürsen has articles published in international indexed scientific journals, has presented papers at international scientific conferences and has written books.
